The NAWN was formed as a result of the original hard work and determination of the founding members of the Southeastern Weather Network. SWN was formed over two years ago and continues to grow strong and provide a great service to their members. As stated in their forum "the purpose of the SWN is to increase its members visibility through linking to one another, and thereby increase each site’s search engine ranking" and the NAWN hopes to expand on this philosophy through a national depot of networks.

Recently there has been a regional explosion of networks all of which have been supported and helped by SWN and the likes of SLOweather, Saratogawx, and Weather Bus to name a few. It is the intent of this forum to give the regions a place to meet each other, discuss network issues and ideas, and to ensure the quality of the entire project. All regional Administrators agree that this is not to take the place of regional forums and it is our hope that all continue to grow and discuss regional issues.
